PROJECT PORTFOLIO
The SCALE project (Smart Cities Advanced Learning), funded by the Erasmus+ programme under action KA203-050168, received €200,968 in funding from the European Union.
SCALE was carried out between 2018 and 2021 with the main objective of designing an interdisciplinary training curriculum to equip students with relevant transversal skills in the field of Smart Cities. To achieve this, the project involved collaboration with companies and organisations experienced in this area, forming a European university–industry partnership specialising in Smart Cities.
Among the project’s key activities was the development of an online training programme, delivered in two editions: the first in February 2020 and the second in March 2021. This six-week course, delivered in English, combined theoretical and practical modules, promoting project-based learning and teamwork in multidisciplinary and international groups. In addition, a mobility scheme was implemented, offering placements of up to 60 days on real-world projects in Spain, Austria, and Germany, although the German edition was cancelled due to the pandemic.
The project consortium included academic and industry partners from various European countries, including Spain, Austria, and Germany. This collaboration made it possible to identify the most relevant transversal skills for real Smart City projects and to design an online training curriculum tailored to the current needs of companies in this field.
